‘Making Sand’ is the new release from the unique talent of Mr. Padraig Jack. Hailing from the Aran Islands - 10 miles off the west coast of Ireland - singer-songwriter Padraig writes and sings in Gaelic and English, songs that are authentic, soulful, honest, celtic music inspired by his environment and its people. He was born and raised 10 miles off the west coast of Ireland on the Aran islands. Music and words are in his blood as his dad is bilingual songwriter Barry Ronan and he is the nephew on his mothers side of the Irish poet and Aosdána member Mary O’Malley.
His music is influenced by his surroundings as much as it is by James Taylor, Van Morrison, Shane McGowan and The Eagles. Padraig has won second prize at the Pan Celtic National Song contest and his song ‘Minnie’ was shortlisted for the final of the Christie Hennessy song contest. He has also received numerous Gradaim N S Award nominations. Making Sand was producer John Reynolds (Sinead O’Connor, Brian Eno, Damien Dempsey). 24 Jul WOMAD Festival, UK 26 Jul Deer Shed Festival, UK Orchestrate PR will be plugging the album in Ireland. Manilla PR will be plugging in the UK.
Padraig supported Sharon Shannon on her 2 UK tours in the UK in 2019 and did many BBC Regional interviews. He has been heralded in Ireland’s Hot Press magazine and Joe.ie.
