Live In London 2015.

Our Overview.

This is a rare opportunity to experience the delight of the Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band in a special gala concert featuring original Bonzo members Rodney Slater, Sam Spoons, “Legs” Larry Smith, Vernon Dudley Bohay-Nowell, and Bob Kerr, plus Goodies legend Tim Brooke-Taylor.

Also appearing on stage are the fifteen piece Bonzo inspired Keen Sham Town Band brass ensemble, The Desperate Men surrealist troupe and other surprise guests yet to be announced. The result is an astonishing mini-festival crammed into what has to be the most remarkable two hours of musical mayhem to be seen or heard anywhere on the concert circuit.

The Bonzos are led by founder Rodney Slater fronting a full Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band ensemble of no less than ten musicians. In addition to the five original Bonzo members, the Bonzo line-up includes Jon Halsey from the Rutles, the spirit of the late Vivian Stanshall is represented by the larger than life vocalist Michael Livesley. Dave Glasson and Malcom Sked from the Whoopee Band are on keyboards and euphonium. The line-up is completed by David Catlin-Birch on guitar and vocals.

As one would expect, the evening features a joyous mixture of British comedic and musical brilliance from Britain's most cherished old geezers who launch a parade of hits from their much loved repertoire from 'Jollity Farm' to 'Mister Slater’s Parrot'. Highlights include Vernon Dudley Nowell's electric saw routine, the dazzling entrances and exits from “Legs” Larry Smith, Sam Spoons with his rhythm pole, washboard and unique electric spoons routine on 'Monster Mash'. Crowd favourites are, of course, ‘Hunting Tigers’, ‘The Urban Spaceman’, ‘My Pink Half of The Drainpipe’, ‘Busted’ and ‘Canyons of Your Mind’ performed with six saxophones and don’t miss an uproarious version of the ‘Intro and the Outro’.
