Label Review.
2017 album.
Our Overview.
Mostly Autumn formed in 1995 are Brian Josh, Andy Smith, Anne-Marie Helder, Iain Jennings, Olivia Sparmenn, Alex Cromarty and Liam Davison. With 10 studio albums already under their belt they have a determinedly loyal following and are regulars on the grassroots classic rock festival scene, garnering a name for themselves for their relentless touring schedules and outstanding live shows and have played high profile supports for Bryan Adams and Ritchie Blackmores Rainbow.
Mostly Autumn are usually described as a progressive rock band, though the band themselves have never really accepted the label. While Josh, their leader, has never denied a deep love of 70s Pink Floyd and Genesis their influences go far wider. and they have developed their own unique sound, with Deep Purple's Jon Lord and BBC's Bob Harris amongst their many fans. After being voted Best Band of 2012 in the Classic Rock Society poll and following their Best Band – Best Live Act – Best Album (Go Well Diamond Heart) – Best Female Vocalist - Best Guitarist – Best Drummer awards in the Classic Rock Society 2011 poll, Mostly Autumn surely deserve to be called "The best band you have never heard”.
Brain Josh comments “Well, I am very proud to announce that ’Sight Of The Day’ is finished, done, in the bag! I would like to thank you for your patience and support, it’s been a long road but nevertheless, a very worthwhile one. I hope you think so too. After the dark subject matter of 'Dressed in Voices', we attempted to make 'Sight of Day' a little more cheerful in places, for our own sanity as much as anything (ha!). I wouldn’t be too optimistic though, this is Mostly Autumn after all. I don’t want to say too much about the content, but there are some big songs on there, if you like that sort of thing.”
