Our Overview.

Tim Hardin most often to referred to as “The songwriters songwriter”. Although commercial success largely eluded him he crafted some of the most recognisable songs of his generation, with classic songs including "If I Was A Carpenter”, “Reason To Believe”, “Misty Roses”, ‘Red Balloon” “Black Sheep Boy” and “How Can We Hold On To A Dream” to name but a few always seducing his audiences of the time.

Sadly Tim like many great legends, died too early of a heroine overdose at the age of only 39 in 1980. An addiction which helped cripple his career after a couple of promising albums in the late 1960s, coupled with him suffering from stage fright and general paranoia meant he often missed shows or performed poorly.

Hardin's songs have long been favourites of song interpreters. Bobby Darin had a big hit with "Carpenter" which has equally been covered by so many artists including; Neil Diamond, Elton John and Robert Plant. Rod Stewart charted with "Reason to Believe”, Nico covered "Eulogy to Lenny Bruce" (also known as "Lenny's Tune") on her 1967 debut album and Rumer recorded one of Hardin's more obscure songs.

An artist of great depth, he was the 60’s folk-rock musician, Tim Hardin's work retains its inspirational quality, recent years have seen the songwriter elevated to the pantheon he deserves, as one of the truly idiosyncratic voices of what would become the counter culture. And despite how many covers there have been of his songs, followers will always revisit his timeless originals.

All followers of Tim will know how his songs will elevate, inspire and touch you and for those who have never come across him before, then we strongly encourage you to dip your musical toes into this mans genius. Lost but never forgotten!
