2020 album. Also available on CD.
‘Such Pretty Forks In The Road’ will be Canadian-American singer-songwriter Alanis Morissette’s first original album since 2012’s ‘Havoc and Bright Lights’, and marks the 25th anniversary of her 2 x Grammy awarded album ‘Jagged Little Pill’. Alanis has worked on the album for three years and in a 2017 interview revealed the name of a new song called “Reckoning”. She described this song as “patriarchy falling down”, and said it was in reference to her day in court in regards to the trial in which others were accused of embezzling from her.
Since then Alanis has been previewing new songs at one-off shows and on radio sessions before hitting the studio in 2019. Three tracks have already been released from the upcoming album: “Reasons I Drink”, “Smiling”, and “Diagnosis” and immediately gained widespread praise from music magazines such as Rolling Stone, Pitchfork, NY Times, and Vulture, and have been solidly supported from radio stations across the globe.
Although it seemed that Alanis shot to fame in 1995 with her album ‘Jagged Little Pill’ with over 30 million copies sold worldwide, it was her third record following two largely ignored collections issued in the early 1990s when she was still a teenager. Alanis was writing songs as early an nine years old and a demo tape brought her to the attention of MCA Records Canada who later signed the talented young singer songwriter. Following the worldwide success of ‘Jagged Little Pill’ Alanis forged a long lasting musical career and has branched out into acting too. However, music is where her heart is at and she will be hitting the road for a world tour in 2021.
